Kōsetsu was an illustrator who was active at the time when, in Japan, the traditional method of woodblock printing was starting to be replaced by newer methods introduced from Europe, including intaglio printing. This gallery shows the fifteen flower and (or) bird prints that Kōsetsu included in an intaglio-printed picture book entitled Kachō Gafu (i.e., Picture Album of Flowers and Birds), published in 1895.
